In offline media, such as billboards, for example, quantifying how many people are impacted by the advertisement is not trivial. However, an estimate can be made based on how many cars pass the highway where the billboard is installed. But what is the engagement with this content? Or better yet, how many people in that car being impacted by that billboard talk to others about what they saw? Metrifying this is an impossible task.

Online, fortunately, it is much easier and more accurate to understand the impact of an advertisement. Engagement in Digital Marketing is when a user carries out some Phone Number List type of interaction in relation to some content on a social network. This response could be a like, a click, a comment, forwarding this content to a third party, saving the content for later viewing, or sharing the content.
